Trek over the pass of Tizi n´Tamatert and Berber Villages.
Ait Souka - Tizi n'Tamatert - Tinerhourhine - Tizi Aguersioual
A day trek that takes you up over High Atlas Mountain passes and down into remote picturesque Berber villages nestled on the sides of mountainsides with their terraced fields and rivers rushing down the valleys.
Leaving your accommodation in Ait Souka, the trek takes you through small terraced fields with apple and cherry trees and through villages and up among juniper and pine trees along rocky tracks to the pass at Tizi n´Tamatert at 2272 meters. You can take a rest here for tea and take it the incredible vista before you. You can see the route zigzags its way down into the next valley, the river dotted with small remote villages clinging to the sides of the mountains.
The Imenane valley is our route as we set off down the mountainside, skirting the village of Tinerhourhine and slowly ascending to the pass of Tizi Aguersioual. The views are superb, sit here and take a rest, either side you have the Imenane and Imlil valleys with terraced fields, small villages and an ancient culture that predates the city of Marrakech.
Our route descends from the pass down to the road and a welcome tea stop by the river. A few more kilometres brings the trek back to Imlil.
You can stay another night and enjoy Berber hospitality with a hot shower and delicious dinner, or if you prefer you can be driven to Marrakech.
